The purpose of RBI internal Ombudsman scheme is to provide a simple and free way for customers to complain against the services of banks and other financial companies that are regulated by RBI. The scheme aims to resolve the complaints quickly and fairly by appointing an independent authority called the Ombudsman. The scheme also makes it easier for customers to file complaints from anywhere in India, in any language, and through online or offline modes. The scheme covers all types of banking and financial services, except for some specific exclusions. The scheme also allows customers to appeal to a higher authority in RBI if they are not satisfied with the Ombudsman's decision.
