The term "Government of India Act" refers to a series of legislative acts passed by the British Parliament that governed India during the period of British colonial rule. Some key Government of India Acts include:

1. Government of India Act 1858: This act transferred the governance of India from the British East India Company to the British Crown, establishing the British Raj.

2. Government of India Act 1919: Also known as the Montagu-Chelmsford Reforms, this act introduced the principle of dyarchy in provincial governments, expanded legislative councils, and allowed for greater Indian participation in government.

3. Government of India Act 1935: This act introduced significant constitutional reforms, establishing a federal structure for India, granting more autonomy to provinces, and expanding the role of Indian leaders in governance. However, it was largely overshadowed by the subsequent events leading to Indian independence.

These acts played a significant role in shaping the constitutional and administrative framework of colonial India until its independence in 1947.
